An HSS collector brace ties into the structural framing at the second-floor stair landing utilizing a 5/8-inch thick gusset plate on each side. The gusset plate is welded with 5/16-inch fillet welds spaced on each side as indicated. A collector connection sized per plan ties the framing to the main vertical column. Work points establish the geometric layout of the bracing members and framing intersection.
