A full depth stiffener plate is welded to the steel beam web at glulam connection points with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld. A one-half by eight inch hanger plate connects to the glulam beam bucket, which is sized per structural sheet eleven or twelve on drawing S7.03. The assembly supports acoustic dowel laminated timber blocking with roof sheathing and a coverboard specified by the architect. Additional fillet welds of five-sixteenths and three-sixteenths inch secure the structural steel beam connections.
