A wide flange steel beam connects to the web of a wide flange column using a bolted shear tab and horizontal column stiffener plates. Plate thicknesses and bolt sizes are sized per the structural schedule. Stiffener plates are welded to the column web and flanges with welds specified per schedule. A minimum eight-inch clearance is maintained at the top of the column where applicable.
