Concrete slab transitions occur at a step where the step height is less than the slab thickness or greater. The slab features typical top and bottom reinforcement sized per plan with hook ends at the transitions. Lap splices utilize either Class A or Class B lengths, with a minimum overlap of 2 feet or three times the slab thickness. Vertical step drops are reinforced with number 5 stirrups spaced at 12 inches on center, number 5 bars at 12 inches on center each face, and three number 7 top and bottom bars.
