A wide-flange beam connects to a wide-flange girder where the girder depth exceeds the beam depth. A three-eighths-inch shear plate with erection bolts as required is welded to the web. Top and bottom one-half-inch plates span across the connection with five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. Five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds tie the connection plates to the structural members, designated for typical shop or field execution.
