This concrete equipment pad details the intersection between a mechanical housekeeping pad and a slab on grade. The pad is reinforced with typical number four bars spaced at eighteen inches each way. If the pad is not poured monolithically with the slab on grade, the cold joint concrete surface must be roughened to a one-quarter inch amplitude. Alternative doweling methods include drilled and epoxy-set bars with twelve bar diameters of embedment or Lenton Formsaver coupler dowels per IAPMO ER 0129. The pad thickness has a one-foot minimum and a one-foot maximum verified with mechanical drawings.
