An inclined hollow structural section connects to an embed plate set flush with the top of the slab on grade at Level 1, positioned at zero feet zero inches elevation. The embed plate transfers loads into the concrete foundation through headed stud anchors extending into a thickened slab drop below. Field welding secures the structural steel member to the steel embed plate assembly.
