A kicker brace connection is oriented perpendicular to the metal deck flutes supporting a concrete slab. The assembly utilizes an L4x4x1/4 angle measuring one foot six inches long, secured to the underside of the deck with two 5/8-inch diameter expansion anchors spaced at twelve inches on center and centered in the deck flutes with standard holes. A brace sized per plan connects to the angle using a 3/4-inch diameter A307 bolt as needed. A three-sixteenth-inch field weld ties the brace and angle assembly into the overhead structural framing.
