A buckling-restrained brace passes through a concrete slab on steel deck positioned over a wide-flange beam beyond. Three-eighths-inch bent plates coordinate the horizontal leg with the minimum deck bearing length and require field alignment. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld connects the assembly with a two-inch spacing typical at each end. A one-inch typical edge spacing is maintained along the brace interface.
