An existing girder or beam connects to a structural column using a one-half-inch by one-foot-zero-inch plate welded to the column with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. The beam web fastens to the plate using two one-inch-diameter machine bolts spaced at three inches with two-and-a-quarter-inch edge distances. The contractor must field verify plate dimensions, fit, and bolt spacing before installation. An elevation of three hundred seventy-eight feet ten inches requires field verification.
