A typical cold-formed metal framing gravity and lateral support connection occurs at the roof edge. An inframing beam connects to the supporting structure with a web connection per plan, welded with a quarter-inch fillet weld on three sides typically. A three-eighths-inch bent plate aligns with the gusset plate below and is welded with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds. Three-eighths-inch stiffener plates spaced at four feet on center align with the inframing beam web where possible. A stiff clip gravity and lateral connection attaches to the bent plate per the cold-formed metal framing delegated designer.
