A concrete wall bears on a continuous concrete footing with continuous reinforcing steel at the top and bottom. Vertical wall reinforcing is specified as headed bars typically, paired with horizontal wall reinforcing throughout the stem wall. The concrete surface is roughened to a one-quarter-inch amplitude at the cold joint below the twelve-inch thick concrete slab on grade. Slab reinforcement terminates with a standard hook into the top of the wall assembly.
