A typical hollow structural section stringer frames into a wide-flange beam at the mezzanine finish floor line with a vertical closure plate. Two one-quarter-inch thick stiffener plates are welded inside the beam web with three-sixteenth-inch welds on each side. A one-quarter-inch thick closure plate is welded to the stringer end and supported by the wide-flange beam flange. Dimensions indicate specific plate placements, four-inch depths, and half-tread offsets.
