A heavy steel column baseplate and gusset plate assembly is anchored within a footing pocket. The structural steel column is welded with half-inch fillet welds and receives a gusset plate per the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer specifications. A Grade 50 two-and-a-half-inch base plate is secured with twenty-one three-inch diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 105 anchor bolts, complete with three-quarter-inch by five-inch by five-inch washers and double nuts. A minimum thread projection of half an inch is required above the top of each nut. Slab control joints are referenced separately.
