A structural steel column is anchored to a concrete foundation via a base plate and anchor bolts, set within a recessed blockout. Reinforcing steel terminates at the edge of the blockout unless noted otherwise. The concrete foundation extends downward as required to fully cover the base plate assembly. The blockout is filled with concrete only after the completion of floor and roof construction above.
