A hollow structural section connects to an embed plate cast into a building wall panel. The embed plate is one-half inch thick and features six three-quarters-inch diameter by five-inch long welded studs along with two number five reinforcing bars thirty-six inches long. A five-sixteenths inch fillet weld secures the hollow structural section to the embed plate, with grout or caulking infill applied to each side to cover the recessed embed. The connection includes a three-quarter-inch recess from the outer face of the building wall panel.
