This connection details a hollow structural section post anchored beneath a concrete beam per plan. An embed plate measuring 1/2 inch by 6 inches by 0 feet 8 inches is cast into the concrete beam with two 1/2 inch diameter by 0 feet 6 inches headed concrete anchors spaced at 6 inches. A hollow structural section post connects to the embed plate via a 3/8 inch plate and an angle measuring 5 inches by 3 1/2 inches by 3/8 inches by 0 feet 6 inches. Both the angle and connection plate feature vertical slotted holes measuring 13/16 inches by 2 3/4 inches. Two 3/4 inch diameter A307 through bolts secure the assembly with a centerline spacing of 3 inches, providing vertical slip capability. A 3/16 inch fillet weld is applied at the connection interface.
