A W-19-4 galvanized grating with 1-1/4 by 1/8 inch bars sits flush with the slab on grade. The grating is supported by an L 1-1/2 by 1-1/2 by 3/16 inch steel angle embedded in the concrete trench edge, anchored with two 1/2 inch diameter by 3 inch studs on all four sides. The concrete trench features an 8 inch typical wall thickness and is reinforced with four #4 bars each way as sized per plan.
