The pavement assembly consists of a five-inch Portland cement concrete layer placed directly over a five-inch aggregate base course. This layered system bears upon properly prepared fills, natural subgrade soils, and structural site grading fill. The subgrade and fills must be adequately compacted and prepared prior to placement of the aggregate base course.
