A wood nailer matches the steel beam flange width and connects with seven-eighths-inch diameter welded threaded rods at sixteen inches on center staggered on the beam with a three-quarter-inch maximum countersank depth. Place one rod nine inches maximum from each end of the nailer and from each splice. The sub-purlins are sized per plan and maintain an eight-and-a-half-inch approximate depth. Two rows are used at nailer spacing with four lines where nailer spacing is staggered and six lines where three lines of nailing is required. A five-inch diameter maximum hole for pipes is provided at ten feet on center minimum if required per approved sprinkler drawings.
