Top and bottom truss chords connect using L5x5x3/8-inch by 0-foot-5-inch angles welded to a 3/8-inch by 10-inch by 0-foot-10-inch steel plate on each side. Fillet welds sized at 1/4 inch are applied typically to three sides of the connection angles.
