Framing and reinforcing for square and round openings up to two feet maximum size in metal floor decks with or without concrete fill. Openings under six inches require no reinforcing. For cuts made before concrete pour, openings are blocked out with styrofoam and framed with L1-1/2x1-1/2x1/4 angles welded to two full high deck flutes on each side. Full-span reinforcing bars consisting of two number four bars are placed on each side with three-quarter inch clearance. For cuts made after concrete fill has reached design strength, two number four bars run full span alongside the opening per section A-A.
