A structural steel hanger assembly supports a beam beneath a concrete-filled metal deck floor system. A hollow structural section measuring 3x3x3/16 inches serves as the hanger drop, connected to both upper and lower steel framing members. Three-eighths-inch thick by four-inch wide by zero-foot-seven-inch long connection plates are aligned with the web and slotted through the hollow structural section at both top and bottom. Two seven-eighths-inch diameter machine bolts secure each connection plate. Five-sixteenths-inch fillet welds attach the assembly components. The upper beam and connection plate are rotated ninety degrees at similar conditions.
