A concrete slab construction joint runs perpendicular to the metal deck between structural steel beams sized per plan. The joint separates a first pour and a second pour with a roughened surface at the break. Reinforcing laps are positioned from nine inches minimum up to one-fourth to one-third of the beam spacing "S".
