A structural steel girder supports a concrete-filled metal deck featuring a discontinuity at the framing line. Welded wire reinforcement and three-gauge chair bars reinforce the concrete topping across the span. Deck closure plates seal the high flutes of the metal deck at the girder bearing condition. The slab provides a three-quarter inch minimum clearance over the top of the topping with varying maximum thickness.
