A wide-flange beam connects to a wide-flange column using horizontal top and bottom connection plates. The plates attach to the beam flanges and are secured with bolts spaced at one and a half inches and three inches from the edge. The connection relies on these bolted plates to transfer moment forces between the beam and the column.
