Ledger angles are welded to structural steel beams with varying vertical elevations relative to the top of steel, using 3/16-inch fillet welds spaced at 12 inches on center typically. When dimension "A" is 1 inch or less or flange thickness is less than or equal to 1/2 inch, 1/4-inch thick gusset plates are provided at 48 inches on center with 3/16-inch welds on two sides. Steel deck and concrete fill are omitted for clarity. Ledger angle size and top of steel elevations are sized per plan unless noted otherwise.
