Elevator guide rail support columns are anchored to a concrete footing using a half-inch thick steel base plate secured with two three-eighths-inch diameter screw anchors. At floor slab and steel beam intersections, the elevator guide rail support columns are connected using L8x4x7/16 structural angles on each side with three-quarter-inch diameter A307 through bolts installed finger-tight with scored threads through three-inch long slotted holes. Connections incorporate fillet welds sized at three-sixteenths and one-quarter inch typical, paired with steel base plates sized to column width by half-inch thick by column depth plus six inches with two-eighths-inch diameter screw anchors. Elevator guide rail brackets are provided by the elevator supplier.
