The steel core is housed within a tubular casing and surrounded by grout fill. A proprietary interface material lines the interior space between the core and casing. Lug plates and core plates extend through the cross section with seal welds specified at the edges. Gusset plates connect at the ends of the assembly with symmetric detailing about the centerline.
