Light gauge steel box headers connect to jamb studs using an L2x2 clip angle matched to the stud gauge and width, fastened with three number ten sheet metal screws on each leg at the top and bottom of the header. Box header tracks match the size and gauge of the wall studs unless noted otherwise. Jamb studs consist of paired light gauge studs secured with four number ten sheet metal screws on each side of the box header. Screw spacing is set at twelve inches on center typically, with reduced spacing applied at specific conditions.
