A concrete slab over metal floor deck passes adjacent to a steel column and is supported at the slab edge by a deck support angle measuring L4x4x1/4 by the column width plus two inches. The horizontal leg of the angle is clipped as required to clear the slab edge. The angle is secured with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds. A steel beam connects to the steel column web via a bolted shear tab connection. For slab edges greater than twelve inches, reference is made to detail A2 on sheet S601.
