Metal deck at the stair landing bears on a structural steel beam sized per plan. An L 3 1/2" x 3" x 5/16" angle connects the assembly, welded with a quarter-inch fillet weld spaced at two feet six inches. Reinforcing steel and concrete fill complete the composite deck assembly above the supporting beam.
