Two number 4 bars are placed at both the top and bottom of the concrete slab running diagonally across the reentrant corner. Top bars maintain one inch of clearance from the top of the slab while bottom bars maintain two inches of clearance to the bottom of the slab. A one-quarter-inch thick flexible closed cell foam plank extends the full depth of the slab at the joint, finished with an elastomeric sealant and backer rod at the top. Reinforcement crossing a construction or contraction joint is relocated to clear the joint by two inches.
