A concrete slab on grade rests on prepared subgrade over undisturbed native soil with reinforcing steel placed as specified per plan. A one-eighth-inch wide sawcut joint extends to a depth of T over four at the joint location, executed as soon as possible without damaging the slab and no later than twelve hours after placement. Every other reinforcing bar is cut at the joint location to allow controlled movement. The sawcut joint is filled with joint sealer per manufacturer specifications.
