A steel beam per plan connects to a column centerline with a 1/4-inch beam cap plate extended for a hanger. A 3/8-inch stiffener plate aligns with the centerline of the beam against the column web. Fillet welds sized at 1/4 inch are specified on three sides connecting the plate assembly. Dimensional limits include a maximum half-inch clearance and a maximum 2-inch dimension for the weld size match.
