A pipe or conduit is embedded within a thickened concrete slab section bearing on firm undisturbed soil or compacted fill. The slab features typical reinforcing sized per plan and maintains a typical thickness outside the trench zone. The local trench depression measures a minimum of six inches deep with specified horizontal clearances of twelve inches minimum from the pipe centerline to the slope break. A two-inch concrete cover is maintained above the pipe or conduit.
