A cast-in-place concrete pit integrates with a floor slab. The pit features an eight-inch thick base slab and eight-inch thick vertical walls, with interior clear dimensions up to four feet maximum unless otherwise noted. Wall and base reinforcement consists of number four reinforcing bars spaced at twelve inches on center each way, centered in the wall typically, supplemented by continuous number four bars at corners and slab interfaces. A structural grating sits flush at the top opening, supported by the concrete edge detail.
