A continuous hollow structural section girt runs parallel to the column web, supported by an HSS6x4x1/4 vertical member and a three-quarter-inch thick base plate secured with four seven-eighth-inch diameter A325N bolts. A quarter-inch cap plate welded to the top of the vertical HSS member supports the continuous girt, with quarter-inch fillet welds applied on three sides. Three-eighth-inch stiffener plates are aligned to the HSS centerline on the near and far sides of the supporting steel beam. A quarter-inch filler plate measuring twelve inches by one foot zero inches provides deck support at the base plate assembly.
