A continuous bent plate edge form is welded to the top flange of a supporting steel beam with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld at twelve inches on center where overhangs occur, or at sixteen inches on center where flush with the support. The metal deck bears on the steel beam with a one and one-half inch minimum end or edge distance, and terminates up to two feet maximum from the beam centerline per architectural requirements. A sizing table specifies the continuous bent plate thickness as three-sixteenths inch for overhangs up to one foot, one-quarter inch for up to one foot six inches, and five-sixteenths inch for up to two feet.
