A 54 mil slip track sits at the head of a cold-formed steel stud wall beneath a concrete deck installed by others, oriented parallel to the deck flutes. A 68 mil steel plate measuring 6 inches by 1 foot 2 inches is spaced at 16 inches on center and fastened to the concrete deck using two fasteners per plate or two #10 screws without concrete. Number 10 waferhead screws are centered in the slot on each flange, with two #10 screws on each plate. Stud size and spacing are determined per elevations or sections, and the slip track complies with ICC ESR-1042.
