A utility pipe sits within a backfilled trench running parallel to a concrete footing, maintaining a minimum two-foot horizontal clearance from the foundation edge. The bottom of the utility trench must remain above a line projected upward at a two-to-one slope from the bottom edge of the concrete footing.
