A structural steel framing connection where a purlin connects to a braced steel beam with a depth of less than six inches. The connection utilizes a three-eighths-inch thick steel plate welded with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides, along with a three-eighths-inch thick steel plate sized to the beam flange width minus one inch. The assembly interfaces below a concrete over steel deck or steel deck floor system supported by the steel beam.
