This assembly features a hollow structural section column supported by a one-half inch thick steel base plate embedded at the edge of a post-tensioned concrete slab. The base plate is secured with four three-quarter inch diameter welded studs and reinforced with two number four hairpins. The connection is welded to the slab reinforcement with a one-quarter inch fillet weld, typical. The assembly is positioned over a wall below where it occurs, maintaining a four-inch clearance from the slab edge. The embed plate layout shows a ten-inch by ten-inch configuration with four-inch spacing between anchors.
