A hollow structural section beam connects to a side plate using two three-quarter-inch diameter through bolts installed in horizontal short slotted holes. The side plate measures one-quarter by four inches by six inches long. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the assembly with a four-inch minimum length.
