Additional reinforcing bars consist of two number five bars placed with a one-inch clear cover from the top of the slab and detailed with hooks at the slab edge where applicable. The structural steel column aligns with grid lines, while framing beams are sized per the structural plan. A typical dimension of two feet six inches marks the extent of the reinforcing layout from the column centerline. The steel deck is omitted from the drawing for clarity.
