Hollow structural section column connections are supported by a hollow structural section column on the left and a wide flange column on the right. A five-eighths inch bearing plate sits atop the support column, secured with four three-quarter inch diameter threaded studs. Three-sixteenths inch fillet welds connect the base and cap assemblies with typical one-and-a-half-inch dimensions specified at the column base.
