A metal roof deck bears a minimum of two inches on the top flange of a wide-flange steel beam. A continuous one-quarter-inch bent plate sits atop the beam flange with a maximum fifteen-inch projection as coordinated with architectural drawings. The bent plate connects to the beam with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld spaced at two inches on center with twelve-inch spacing intervals. The metal roof deck is installed per the roof deck schedule.
