A concrete footing construction joint between first and second concrete pours incorporates high keys spaced at eleven inches on center with a typical depth of one and one-half inches. Footing reinforcement continues across the joint via lap splices or optional Type II mechanical couplers. As an alternative to standard lap splices, Type II Erico couplers of ICC-ER 3967 may be used.
