A hollow structural section tube HSS 5x5x5/16 frames into the low roof assembly, anchored with a 3/4 inch by 12 by 12 inch plate at posts and a 1/2 inch stiffener plate underneath. An L8x6x5/8 angle is installed at push-pull connections offset from the bearing channel, alongside an L6x4x3/8 by 6 inch angle. A 3/8 inch minimum shear tab/stiffener provides full depth support. Cover plates and block outs for welding are detailed with one-quarter inch and five-sixteenth inch welds.
