A structural steel beam with standard round holes connects to a steel column face via a shear tab plate. The connection utilizes bolts sized and quantified per Table A on sheet S5.01, maintaining a one-half inch typical clearance. A plate designated as plate A with standard round holes is welded to the beam web using a one-quarter inch fillet weld spaced at two inches. The top of steel for the beam aligns relative to the top of the column per sheet S5.01. Cold-formed steel wall and roof deck are omitted from the drawing for clarity.
